Nack Ballard and I co-authored Backgammon Openings, Book A, published in 2007. Ordering info is at www.nackbg.com .
I have won backgammon tournaments on five continents: England (1985), Brazil (1995), Hong Kong (1997), Australia (two in 2008) and USA (1987, 1991, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2007).
Years ago I discovered the remarkable coincidence that all six numbers on the doubling cube are even. I have worked very hard at extending my research and I have recently discovered an even more remarkable coincidence. The six numbers on the doubling cube are precisely the same numbers that are required to fill a backgammon draw sheet without any byes. For example, a draw sheet of five rounds without byes requires 32 players, and 32 is one of the six numbers on the doubling cube. These facts have been confirmed by Dr. Douglas Zare.
For several years, I have been spending a massive amount of time every day working on my goal of becoming the most humble and modest person on the planet.
