I also play 24/18 to jump over prime bcuz 6s doesn't grow on trees and 6/2 to safe that blot and avoid 11 shots from the bar after 18/14. Also gammons don't count so putting two on the bar for such purpose is unnecessary.

After 24/18 6/2 white has 54 64 66 total 3 shots from the bar which is considerable less then 11. Sure, if white enter he get new chances for hit us but with two his blots in outfield we could pick up more checkers too.
