I agree. However, I have found that the minimum increase is closer to 1.3 pips. In Robert's position this would give blue a lead of 2.9 pips or an EPC/Metric of 72.33. A Kleinman estimate (+1 pip) gives 70.5 but a +1.3 OTOH estimate 71.4. I'd expect your estimate of 1 pip and my estimate of 1.3 to be unreliable as the value of a pip increases or some unassuming change in distribution; like, A VACANT 6 POINT.
