Main Events

Full truncated Swiss (ala Chicago Open) w/3 or fewer losses either continuing to play or cashing while 4 loss players are eliminated: 10.

Truncated Swiss (ala old Indianapolis and new Pittsburgh?) w/3 or few losses continuing to play or cash, but eventually shifting to Main+Cons playoff brackets: 9.

Any Swiss where 3 losses puts you out of the Ty without cashing: 8.

Full double elim. w/ additional progressive consolation (ala Michigan Summer Champs): 9.

Knockout style (power of 2 bracket) Main + Progressive Cons. + Progressive LC where each loss drops you down one bracket: 8.

Knockout style (power of 2 bracket) Main + Progressive Cons. + fresh draw LC where each loss drops you down one bracket: 7.

Knockout style (power of 2 bracket) Main + fresh draw Cons. + fresh draw LC where each loss drops you down one bracket: 6.

Any structure where you might fail to cash with 2 losses: 2.

Standard side event (Doubles, Masters, Limited JP, Seniors, other standard rule event)

Fewer than 2 losses cashes: 10 (but ONLY if there is enough time to conduct such an event, which is very rare).

Single elimination: 9.

Special side events

Multi-skill-level w/multiple sidepools and low initial entry fee (ala USBGF Regional/National Championships and recent London Open Main event): 9.

Speedgammon: 2.

Nackgammon: 6.

Freeze-out (ala Michigan side event) where you first person to lead by X points wins the match; typically X > 3?) 6.

Blitz (8-bracket qualifiers where bracket winner gets 1/2 of entries fees from that bracket; remaining $ goes to rake and playoff winner/finalists): 7.

Quickies (1- or 2-point matches): 4.

Weirdo rule events (e.g. cancelling 1 opp roll per game; backgammon to lose; etc.) 1.

(Other events I'm not familiar enough with to be able to rate them.)
