Yes, poker is without a doubt more complex than bridge. Now, as always happens, what he might have meant to say is "bridge is more complex than no limit hold 'em" and that I could at least understand. When you toss out bridge being more complex than a wide variety of games that span from pot limit omaha to 2-7 triple draw to your old fashioned 5 card draw or any of the stud games or back to the more modern chinese poker and on and on and on it's ridiculous. (not even getting into short handed play v. full ring games v. heads up v. money v. tournament play yada yada yada)
