Not sure what to make of the numbers.

Some tournaments have been good at attracting larger crowds, including players from further away. Like Michigan and Pittsburgh. At the same time, I'd guess there are fewer players (especially Open players) within 1 hour of Flint and Pittsburgh than, say, Chicago. Comparing Chicago 2012 to 2011, Open attendance was up, due to attendance by players 5+ hours away. But Advanced attendance was down, due to less attendance by hours <1 hour away.
