Cube action?

Because of Brown's awkward structure (homeboard and location of spares relative to Beige's anchor), semi-trapped checker, and the resulting gammon chances for both sides, I feel more comfortable with the double than with the take.

There doesn't appear to be a lot of volatility on the next exchange although maybe I'm not mentally playing beige's side aggressively enough. However, given that I think the take decision isn't so easy, either Brown could have a pass now or the position could be sufficiently close to a pass that even modest improvement is likely a market loss in the next 1296 sequence. Both of those argue for doubling, regardless of volatility.

Bottom line is that OtB I'd probably take, but I'm not at all sure of this decision. For quite some time my cube play has been erratic, at best.
