"Trice's formula says that when you have an even number of checkers with an aver pip count/checker of 2.8, your EPC is 4 higher than what it would be if they were all stacked on your 1 or 1 and 2-points."

Have you got a reference for this, John? I don't recall ever reading this nugget.
