Colorless Counting--A clever concept

On this subject, Herb Roman (Chicago player) has developed a new approach to pip counting that is highly accurate, particularly in chouettes. He has done this for years and it works perfectly.
First you count your pips, very slowly and carefully. Then you do it again, to make sure you are right. (Be sure to do it out loud so your opponents know you are doing it twice.)
Then you count the pips on the pips on the other side of the board, again, out loud. And again, you repeat to make sure you have it right.
Then you stop, and say that you forgot what your count was, and start to do it again. By this time all of your opponent's either get up in disgust and drop before you even double, or they tell you what the pip count is and tell you it isn't a double and just roll the frigging dice.
So with Herb's method, not only do you get the pip count, but you find out if your opponent is going to take or drop the cube.
