Whatever they're doing, it seems to work! Look how popular bridge is compared to backgammon.

Backgammon tournaments should start using computer generated dice rolls right away. These could be produced ahead of time and each tournament could have a "Dice Sequence Review Committee" to examine the generated sequences and determine if they are sufficiently interesting. Sequences that are deemed too boring -- too many small numbers or not enough doubles -- would not be used. This is sure to make backgammon more exciting and generate interest in the game.
