As a player: I love playing chouettes. Ask anyone that knows me. Love it. However, the rules for this event seem a little flaky, and I would likely be disinclined to play, just because its not super-clear, and I can think up situations where the rules can be manipulated to advantage.

As a director: I have toyed with the idea of a chouette based event, and ultimately decided against it, largely because I dont think it would be interesting enough. If people want to play chou, they will, you dont need to wrap it up in a side event. Yes, you will get participants, no, not as many as you think you will. It will take much longer than you think too. Even when you escalate the cube sizes, rounds can take time - see Carol Joy Cole's summer Freeze out event at Michigan for further information.
