When I saw the game, I thought Mochy could have caused a time forfeit if he had insisted on Loero handling all moves according to the letter of the BG rules. Personally I am glad he did not.

For the 22, I'd have made the 4 and played 15/13 OTB. That is what I remember when watching. I had not considered making the 20 (which is even worse to miss it completely).

I would not have broken the 5 with the 51, although it may have an added benefit given the time trouble of Loero. There were also later several plays where I wondered whether the play chosen was the best way to roll the prime, as snakes with one or more checkers far advanced in front of the prime are difficult to roll forward.
