I am nor sure but I think it might be broadly comparable for Denmark and Japan. The UK system is probably not comparable.

With regard to Gridgammon, I think historically there has been very high membership from USA players which has also grown considerably with the USBGF online tournaments. I fact I think the vast majority of active USBGF members would have played there. This certainly isn't the case with many European counties where many of the active players haven't played on Gridgammon. Maybe Japan would give a better comparison.

Simply knowing the number of members in each national federation might be a good alternative.
