Sorry. I think I may have misunderstood the problem, because it is the player who isn't on the bar whose clock is running. Nevertheless, the opponent knowingly allowed the player to lose their delay time each roll. Moreover, each roll after the first was an illegal play in which the opponent was obliged to notify the player. Therefor, I believe penalties should still apply.
