Let's not forget that there are different ways to enjoy this social game. For example, in many parts of the world they don't use cups at all, and might therefore consider their proposed use to be anti-social, let alone using lipped ones.

For those players in the Western world who would rather just use cups, if only many of them and their peer group would expend the tiny amount of time and energy needed to produce legal rolls. Certainly for some of their opponents, including those who don't speak out, there's nothing social about this kind of behaviour.
