I think you've learned that you don't need to be afraid of anyone and that checker missplays cost you a bit of equity in this match (thx for sending it to me). Maybe you could have played 4.5 without a couple checker errors or cube errors based on perceived skill differences.

In time your checker play will further improve and you'll learn to apply match equity consideration and likely drop down to typically playing in the 3's.

You didn't roll out my 2nd choice here which actually is 10/9 which may be a tad better than 8/7 stripping the mid, however, I would have made the minor split and forced the action due to my 5 pt being made.
