I agree with your double. However, I'd certainly be interested in seeing your 53 rollout. OTB, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to do this, but the more I look, the more I like the double hit. I think hitting on his bar point is pretty clear. You don't want to be trapped behind his broken 5 prime, so you take that away. You'd also like to anchor on his bar to prevent future priming threats. The best 3 to do so would be 63 taking away any rolls that would knock you off his bar. Sure, you're not real happy when your hit back, but you still have chances after being hit. The whole reason the double is correct in the first place is because of the value of gammons at this match score. Checker play has to be aggressive to maximize gammons, so the double hit is looking correct to me.
