A couple mistakes/typos

In Response To: Very impressive result from DeepMind team (Bob Koca)

The article at the link AP posted references: the system can churn out 800,000 positions each second, as compared to Stockfish 8's 70 million moves a second.

The article at the link Casper posted references: ...with AlphaZero searching just 80,000 positions per second compared to 70 million for Stockfish.

Either 800,000 or 80,000 (or both) is wrong. In the portion of the thread started above this post, discussions are based on the 800K. In at least one other post (can't remember where), the 80K formed the basis of another opinion.

Incidentally, the first link (mis-) claims: In its one-on-one tournament against Stockfish 8, AlphaZero won 25 games and tied 25 when it played as white, while winning three and drawing 72 games when playing as black—

The second link gets it right: With White AlphaZero scored a phenomenal 25 wins and 25 draws, while with Black it “merely” scored 3 wins and 47 draws.

I didn't try to find other typos or mis-claims (obvious or otherwise), just happened to notice those.

Nack
