22/18 saves the backgammon but makes the gammon almost a sure thing.

6/2 risks a few backgammons but allows blue a chance to hit after 61, 51, 41, and 31. That's 8 shakes, and blue hits about 1/3 so figure 3/36 or about 8% to save gammon vs. basically needing to roll boxes after 22/18.

6/2 for me.

QF says the clue is 'give 'em enough rope' but I'll still play 6/2.
