Thanks, I saw the comment bubbles and probably should have realized but didn't that the red indicated that changes were made.

I agree the new rule is fine but predict there will be someone who will argue that by not placing the checker on the bar that he didn't actually hit it. Under the new rules of course he has no case and the ruling would clearly go against him but I can see it causing some consternation. It is not necessarily something to worry about since players should know the rules, but in practice many do not.
