Loss of Creativity

I am in complete agreement with Mike. Particularly for top players who want their BMAB and PR ratings to look good—they are now “prevented” from making a play or cube decision that is “creative” or intendend to game their opponent in some way because eXtremeGammon will ding them.
We are being recorded and streamed and we know every time we make a play that eXtremeGammon doesnt like we risk being ridiculed or thought less of as a skilled player.
I record and stream most of my matches and I know the world can see my mistakes, both unintentional and intentional—yes—I really do make intentional mistskes to get into back games which I enjoy and where I feel I have a particular talent over many opponents. And yes, I do greatly change my cube decisions based on the strength of my opponents. And yes, it often results in some horrendous PR’s. But I prefer to play with passion and for enjoyment, and to be completely honest, I know that of I played steictly to get as low a PR as possible it would not be that impressive anyway!
To the point, for some of us who have the good fortune not to be one of the best, we can still think about creativity and making “fun and interesting plays” to see what hapoens, and we can enjoy the gsme at that level, perhaps even more than the giants who are saddled with having to try to emulate eXtremeGammon.
I guess this is why I keep creating new games like PaskoGammon and Pineapple Bluff Gsmmon and why so many giants enjoy those vsriations—they are allowed to be creative and have fun without the restrictions of having to produce a low PR.
