P40/australia tournament cancelled?

Is the latter really a possibility? Would someone book flights to Australia without contacting the tournament organisers first? Man, that would be dumb, even more so as it was an inaugural event and not an established one.

I have a hunch too that maybe those players who had expressed an interest in the event, and surely any who had paid a deposit or otherwise gave an assurance that they would play, have been notified.
