I think when someone posts a position and asks for comment without including the rollout, they're most interested in hearing how people think about the position "over the table" -- otherwise they would just post the rollout at the same time and invite interpretation of the results.
Over on the Facebook groups like Backgammon Republic, a nice tradition has been established where it's understood the original poster decides when to bring the speculative phase of discussion to a close with the posting of a rollout. It's considered bad form to hijack someone's thread by posting rollout results without being asked to. Of course some people may check XG before venturing their opinion, but that's not really the general expectation. Being spectacularly wrong sometimes is all part of the fun.
