Latest GNU version -- CPU % & multithreading

I downloaded and installed the 20090518 version of GNUBG for windows. I've got one instance cranking away on something at the moment. When I open the Windows Task Manager to see CPU %, it reports a number around 60%.

When I go to Settings -> Options -> Eval Threads, it's set to 1, so it's not doing any multithreading. Is GNU somehow using more than one core?

Then, I opened another GNUBG and set Eval Threads to two... I analyzed a match, and did not run into any of the garbage numbers that older versions gave me... in fact, when I cleared the analysis and reset it to one thread, all of the numbers appear to come out the same. Does multithreading work now on GNUBG?
