poker at BG tournaments?

This is really a two part question -- for US and for the non-Puritan remainder of the civilized world.

I know sometimes in past ABT events there have been "private" poker games, typically in someone's hotel room. Anyone seen this lately? (Public display -- i.e. in the BG playing room -- has been discouraged, in my experience, for obvious reasons. I still see the occasional gin game, though.)

What is the situation in Europe+GB, etc.? Are there side games besides the events organized by the promoters? What are the attendances of the organized events? What's the rake?
