GNU's ELO Ratings

So, As much as I normally utilize the ER given by GNU on my match analysis, I find that I most frequently look at the ELO rating it tells me I am playing at, and tend to keep that in my mind.

Last night, I played a match on GG, and my ER came out to 3.7, my opps 2.7 (or thereabouts), but my ELO rating was 1950ish, and my opps was 1940ish. I found this to be quite strange.

I think I prefer to know what 'level' I am playing at by watching the ELO that I play at rather than the ER - I dont know why this is. But in my example here, there appears to be a discrepancy. Can anyone shed any light on the why's or where's or how's of this?
