Another XG Study From Corbett's Book

As a follow up to the first study where Corbett selected 10 positions to run through XG 3-ply that Snowie missed (XG got 9 out of 10 right), Mike then asked me to test XG on the 5 complicated positions in his Monument Chapter.

XG got ALL FIVE correct in the 3 ply evaluation, and these were five plays that Snowie 3 ply missed.

If you would like to check them for yourself, they are the positions in "Backgammon Problems" pages, 181, 183, 185, 187, 189.

Again, this does not "prove" anything, but simply suggests that XG 3 ply did better in those particular positions, and is likely to be better in similar positions. Further it is an indication that the rollouts on XG will be superior if these kinds of positions are present.
