Cannes team World cup update

3 American teams. O'Laughlin/UBK as USA east, Stick/Neil/Yep as BGO, and Carter/Bauer as USA central.

In a match against another nation two singles matches to 7 were played and if necessary a 9 point doubles match to break the tie.

There were 4 groups of 4, in which a round robin was played. The top 2 from each group advances to a single elimination playoff. USA east is in group A and all 4 teams are currently 1-1 so the two winners advance. The other two USA teams were in group D. They each finished 2-1 along with Sweden. Bgo beat Central who beat Sweden who beat Bgo. Bgo is out on the tiebreaker though. They had a cumulative record of 4-3 whereas USA central was 5-3 and Sweden also 5-3.

I asked beforehand what would be the tiebreaker and was told that it would be a 7 point full team consulting match. That was not used though. The records could be used but it seems every team should play the same number of matches. Also in a 3 way tie using records to break I think it is more usaul only to look at those 3 tied teams.
