Chiva -- French Open

I am seriously considering making the UK Masters and French Open back-to-back in October. What's the accommodation situation at the French Open? Rooms on site? Rooms nearby? The wife is planning on tagging along -- are there things to do close-by? Close to public transportation into the city center? Fill me in.
