Introduced To Backgammon Clocks Playing Richard Munitz

I, again, had the pleasure of playing a backgammon match with Richard Munitz, a world class player, in New York City. Richard suggested that we play a 7 point match with a 15 minute time period. I have not played in an ABT tournament, to date. I've played clock chess, so, a clock is not a foreign object in a board game. In backgammon, I found it added another variable to the game and had a few side benefits- both players used same dice( no arguments over who had the better dice ), and, no fast rolling by opponent. In this match, time did not appear to be a relevant factor. Just wondering about the future of clocks in backgammon and how players feel about them, in general.
