XG Analysis question.

When doing a 3-ply analysis with XG the actual move played is always evaluated on 3-ply even if it's trivial. So you'll get situations where only 1 play is evaluated at 3-ply.

The filters are not customizable in XG like in gnubg. By default gnubg will stop at 0-ply if the play is trivial although you can change it to behave like XG.

I can't see any benefit in XG's set up. Can anyone else see a good reason for it? XG is a fast piece of software but forcing it to evaluate every move played at 3-ply will have some effect on speed.
