I understand that splitting to the 21 is generally better than splitting to the 23 (although the decision becomes close in my mind if White had another man in the zone). I just want to make sure I'm not systematically misplaying these positions (or, if I am, how to fix that) by splitting with an ace when I should be counterpriming. For example, if the roll were 51: 24/23 or 6/5? Would it make a difference if White's builder on the bar were back on the midpoint?
