I liked ratings. That way, I knew what size of fish to expect. Of course, I assumed mostly that low rated players werent as good as higher rated players, which is for the most part correct, but NOT always.

I was also prepared to play low rated players, and deal with the rake attached to it too, as my margins were far greater with them than they were with similarly rated players. I mean, its simple math. you go into a money game as a 75/25 favorite, you will win a net 50 games over 100 games, so despite the higher rake, the margins are much better. Play against someone that you are a 53/47 favorite, and all of a sudden you are netting 6 wins in 100 games, and thats not enough to cover the rake in most cases.

So, ratings, I am all for em.
