Deferred free drop

In Response To: Deferred free drop (Maik Stiebler)

Again thanks, Maik (and Gregg). You're not the one being annoying at all -- rather it's me for disseminating misinformation. As you astutely pointed out, I had it backwards: the larger a player's lead, the more he should be taking.

The equity numbers are still valid. At -1-2, one uses zero as the theoretical breakeven (so, opening 51 is a drop and 52 is a tie). At -1-4, one uses -.008 or thereabouts (as I stated), but that doesn't mean dropping more opening rolls. Instead, it means taking ALL opening rolls, including 52 (eq = -.0002) and 51 (eq = -.0028). It also means taking any response position that is less negative than -.008.

When I have time, I'll list some negative-equity response positions I believe the leader should take at -1-4 and maybe -1-6, etc.

Nack
