I agree 62$ is lame for the reasons given.

There are a handful of instances where hitting with a six from the eight point is correct or strong. 41S-63X (hit and split, 24-21, 8-2*) at GG comes to mind. (It may be the only one.) It is better than S by a small amount (TCTC) after 5k. However, the tempo is more important against 41S than it is after 51S. For example, 41S-54X (24-20, 6-1*) is best at most scores because of the potential of the undisturbed 41S position. I do not see similar value in the 51S-62H play. Of course, 62$ is lame. So, I am only guessing that $ would remain on top when extended. The main reason I play $ is because women (i.e. my thrill seeking wife) love it.
