Remember passwords is checked. What happens is that if I say yes to the prompt 'Remember password' it will save an entry, but only in association with this particular post. I.e. I go to tools>options>security and the user name shown is the subject heading of this particular post. I ended up with 50 or 60 saved passwords with user names that were only whatever I happened to put in the subject: box.

This isn't how it's supposed to work. I'll keep playing around with other things and see what I can work out.
