I guess the primary concern is if blue rolls a 6 immediately. You dont want a blot on the acepoint while blue has a closed board and runs out. Of course, blue running out can only be a good thing for blue, so I think I am inclined to break the 7pt too. I want to trap blue, and score some fun gammons.

Normally, if blue wasnt closed, then I would play the more natural looking 6/1.
