It appears our posts crossed. In your comments below, I took the liberty of changing your "supi 0" and "n0" to "SO" and your "supi 1" and "n1," to "S1" (alternate ways of writing "0-Super" and "1-Super").

Using Nack's weight numbers of 0,1,2,3 and occupation numbers S1, S2, S3 for Supers 1,2,3 the formula gets the following form:

PC= (S1*1 + S2*2 + S3*3) x 6 + 90 + sum of corrections

Starting position: S3=2, S1=5, correction +5 for S1 + 6 for S0).

Result:

PC= (2x3 + 5x1)x6 + 90 + 11 = 66+90+11=167

You're getting the hang of it!

Another trick is that you can count three checkers on any even-numbered point by dividing it by 2. The trad 6pt is the Naccel 0pt, or "N0." The trad 7pt is the Naccel 1pt, or "N1." The trad 8pt is the Naccel 2pt, or "N2," etc. With that basic intro, note the three checkers on N2, and divide by 2 for a count of 1. Anytime you see three checkers on that (commonly occupied) point, just think "1."

So, to count the opening position, "1" + 6 (back) + 5 (mid) totals 12, with 5p left over. If you want to convert to trad, it's 72 + 90 + 5 = 167.

In Naccel, you always deal with small counts, so before long 12 will just be 162 to you, which means that you only have to add the 5 pips.

For now, good reference points are that 5 = 120, and 10 = 150. In this case, the 10 = 150 makes it easier to see that 12 = 162, saving conversion steps.
