XG exports would be more familiar if the dark chequers were at the bottom, and playing clockwise.

It's just like driving on the left or right; you can cope with either but the one you are used to is more instantly familiar and you are less likely to mess up.

And for my play: 13/9(2) wins out over 13/5 because it deals with the midpoint immediately if it not hit. Playing 11 and 5 is also possible, but I prefer the solid 4-prime.
