Your post sounds like you think that the two plays are very close cubeless and that for that reason you choose the safe play - although you are not actually saying that explicitly.

Just to be sure, am I right that when plays A and B are equivalent cubeless, and that the opponent has a cube after A, but not after B, then A (cube provocation) is generally the better play ? At least it must be true by definition when A and B have the same double/take equities.

18/7 for me.
