This doesn't come out well in terms of layout, at least not for IE. So I can't parse it too well.

The 1.15 reminds me of Kleinman's D-squared-over-S, which is a formula based on a continuous model of racing. Chuck points out deficiencies of a continuous model.

Just about all methods involve some way to adjust for distributional features likely to cause pip wastage.

Tom Keith has a good method: at http://www.bkgm.com/articles/CubeHandlingInRaces/ .
