"Slot Rule" and "Simborg Rule"

I've always thought that slot-gammon was a much superior idea, as it would tend to lead to more complex games with more men sent back (or more prime-vs-prime). With the Simborg rule, basically you end up splitting on almost all your opening rolls, which leads the opponent to do the same and steers the game toward mutual holding games, (lower volatility and more 'boring', IMO).
