A very interesting position. Here are some observations in random order.
A) 5(2) is the 0-ply choice of bots and humans. It's definitely the "prettiest" play -- hold than anchor; make a new and valuable homeboard point; don't put checkers behind opp's anchor.
B) Cubeless, the awkward homeboard moves are the clear winners (between 0.02 and 0.04 differences). It's simple wins trading off (better) vs. gammon losses.
C) The two "run off the anchor" plays looks close to the human eye, but they are far from it. 66 is a winner (with cube inefficient "play on for gammon" result occuring if Blue stops on the 16-point) in either case. 65 is only a winner after 20/15. (Note that 3-3 hits after Blue stops on the 16-point, making it 2/36 vs. 2/36 outfield hits, but White won't make this play!)
Please add your comments. I'll have one or two more later.
