I'm curious. If we simulate a game playing population starting at 1500 Elo and they play games that consist of a coin toss, and the Elo is adjusted based on the outcome as if it were a 1-point backgammon match, does anyone know what the standard deviation of the Elo ratings in this population would be? I was under the impression that the std of a normal FIBS style Elo system was about 200 points. It would be interesting to know how a pure chance game compares in distribution.
