Just making the 4 point usually seems to be better in these types of positions, but I think this actually is an exception. Black already has an anchor, so denying him the chance of the 4 point is not that valuable, his 4 checkers back seems to add value to blocking him from easily jumping one of them, and most important, White has such good diversification of builders after 10/9(3) 6/5 that he will very often get to make 4 naturally.
