Nice rule.

Here is a similar way to look at it that might help for match play. Instead of rounding the square root add 0.5 104^.5 is about 10.2. Adding 0.5 gives deficit of 10.7 so you need less than this much to take resulting in same final value of 10. It can be extended to match play better then in that you see you have a money take by 0.7 pips so your MWC is about 0.7 pips better than the last money take value of about 78%.

Would anyone have that 78% value more accurately? For longer races it gets closer to 78.5 and for shorter can go below 78 but I don't have a table for it handy.
