As we see this is basically not a possible position, and this is a close take but subtracting 32 yields sqrt (210) which is 14.49. However this still is really close and if we simply subtract 31.75 we get sqrt (210.5) which does round up to 15.
As we are seeing, this method of subtracting 32 seems to extend the usefulness of Nack's idea upward to about any practical no contact race length we could encounter in BG.
Right. Looking at Ian's spread sheet (which David and I are also now working on), it is clear that N57 not only (unprecedently) matches the gold standard in the main range, but it has fewer misses in the upper range (say at 120+) than with previous formulae. Granted, that upper range has little more than academic value. What may end up happening, on a "platinum standard," is that -32 works for the main range, -31 works from 120 to 180, and -30 works above 180, or on some such curtailing curve, for those with a theoretical interest.
