8/7(2) after 6/5(2) can't be good. You left all 6s, 24 25 25 34 total 19 shots which put you behind in the race more than 20 pips. In addition you fail to split yours back checker so chance for making some anchor is smaller. Additional weakness is that to make bar point you have to release 8pt. This can't be right. Three point prime is fine but big swing is to be hit and best play here do good things on both sides of the board. Split is useful because white has that checker in outfield to make bar or 5pt and with split we put more pressure on it and give us better chance for anchoring.When your opponent start for anchor it is better to go for your own.
