I'll strengthen it beyond aces Chuck;

Theorem:

If the following conditions are true:

1) Cubeless game 2) No contact 3) If the only goal is to avoid a gammon 4) Every home board point is occupied 5) There is a single number left to play

Then if a checker can reach the 6 point exactly then it is correct to make that play.

I'll give you a chance to prove it on your own first.
