Why X here, but H best after 54S?

For 54S-61, H is not best. P is best.

For reference, the bot averages I have for the two positions are:

43S-61 [X P10 H16]
54S-61 [P H34 X63]

...where P = point (13/7 8/7), X = hit-and-split (24/18 6/5*), and H = hit-and-down (13/7 6/5*).

So, which of (1) or (2) below do you mean?

(1) Why is X best for 43S-61, but P is best for 54S-61?
(2) Why is X better than H for 43S-61, but H is better than X for 54S-61?

(I can answer either question, but I don't want to waste time on the one you're not asking.)
